Credit Cards

Credit cards give us convenience of shopping and dining in restaurants without cash. It also provides convenience of ordering home deliveries meals such as Pizza Hut when we don’t feel like going out on rainy days, and that we don’t have cash at home. During overseas travel, or when you need cash advance, credit cards allow you to draw money instantly. This is the most wonderful part of credit cards.
Credit cards are very common nowadays. Majority of people will have at least one credit card in their wallet. However, people who are self-employed and do not meet the minimum requirements cannot apply for a credit card. For anyone who is working and as long as they meet the minimum criteria, applying for a credit card is easy. To encourage more people to sign up and use credit cards, many credit cards companies or banks even offer free credit cards to consumers — telemarketers, roadshows and various promotions can be seen very regularly.
As credit cards become more common and easy to use, very often we hear people have tons of loans to pay to the banks or credit cards company, and people being declared bankrupt. We hear some people overspend or overcharged their cards. We all know that credit cards companies charge high interest rates for any loans taken from them. When these people overspend their money, and have no ability to pay the bank back, every month they are forever paying the bank the minimum sum they could afford. Their lives are like working as a ‘slave’ for the bank. They have no savings. Their money is forever paying to different banks. Is credit cards to be blame or the credit cards company or banks to be blamed? Definitely not! Money and credit cards are not harmful nor evil. It is how we make use of the cards and money. Everybody is responsible for their own actions. They ought to know how to use the cards in a proper way and ought to have discipline on spending money.

It can be very inconvenient when you do not have a credit card with you. Just recently, I ordered Pizza from Pizza Hut deliveries. I do not have enough cash at home. So I cannot order Pizza. How I wish I can have a credit card and that would avoid a lot of inconvenience like the case of ordering Pizza Hut deliveries. Otherwise, I need to go out of the house and go to the nearest ATM to withdraw money.

My brother is self-employed and he does not have credit cards too. He also find it very inconvenient not having a credit card on hand. He is trying his best to find the best credit cards. He is a businessman, doing his own business. Without a credit cards, he need to deal with cash every time with clients, such as during meal times and so on. Recently he asked me which is the best bank to apply for a credit card. I ask him to compare credit cards. Different credit cards companies have different terms and benefits. Some banks or companies offer lesser annual fees or even free annual fees. Almost all the banks now offer balance transfer facility. I think this is very useful for people who have lots of loans. Balance transfer can save them a lot of interest. We never know what will happen tomorrow. So it is always better to have a credit cards that can give us instant cash when we need it urgently.
So all I can say is that having credit cards is good. There are prepaid credit cards, debit cards and other types of charge cards in the market. Of all the types of cards, credit card is still the best. Debit cards function only when you have enough cash inside. One need to ‘top-up’ the card, which is troublesome and there is no cash advance. There is no harm at all when using credit cards when there is good money management and self-discipline. I would definitely want credit cards.
